Gleaning Stories Project: What's That?![]() The Gleaning Stories Project started as an oral history project in the Salinas Valley on the Central Coast of California. They collected the stories of gleaners who went into commercial agriculture fields after the harvest to salvage food for soup kitchens and food banks.
Since then, The Gleaning Stories Project has provided technical and fundraising assistance to other stories projects. As a small non-profit organization, it channels charitable donations to non-profit story projects like this one. The founder of The Gleaning Stories Project, Rusten Hogness, is the older brother of Suze Rutherford, the Peace Corps volunteer working in Pankisi Gorge with the Women's Council. |
